mnmuskie
I would like to add a pedestal seat to the front of the boat and was wondering if anyone could give some suggestions. do i need to do something to the floor(reinforce) where i put the base or is it strong enough to just attach it. what is the best pedestal to use. i have not decided if i want a butt seat or a standard one yet. thanks for any help. delmuts
What kind of boat? Does it have a factory floor, or is it one you put in?
fivebucks
You are going to want some reinforcement under the pedestal if you can't drill into and attach the base of the pedestal to the struts or whatever support the decking is attached to. I added a pedestal to my last boat without doing this and all it took was 1 wave and my buddy was on his back as the pedestal pulled out of the floor. An aluminum plate under the floor fixed the problem.
slurpie
I think alot of seat bases come with that pieace of alumnium. I got mine last year and think most bases came with it. Have'nt installed it yet to cold out.
