I may be coming out and staying in the sisseston area. Wondering what a person from mn needs to fish out there for the weekend. Liscense for self and snowmobile? Is there a reputable guide and whats the cost? Read some of the topics so fairly sure ill have a snowmobile with to get around on the lakes. I will be using a Navionics chip so i gotta look and see what the lakes look like. I read the article about South Dakota in the fishing magazine and it said Buffalo is a day bite true. Beings i dont know the roads good i would prefer to fish during the day. I'm not afrid to move or drill some holes any info would be great. I would like to target perch and eyes but not rulung out craps sunnies or pike. Thanks for any info.

You will need a non-resident fishing license plus some of the lakes around Sissenton you need a tribal license. As long as the snowmobile is licensed in the state you are from you will be ok. You don't need a fish house license.

Waubay and Reetz have been ok for walleyes and perch. Pickeral has been good for crappies and Emeny swin has been ok for bluegills. Ask the local bait shops they are very good about putting you on fish.

Sportsman's cove in webster is a good place for info.

Buffalo can be good for northerns, as can Rush Lake (between Webster and Waubay). Stay toward the Waubay side, south of Highway 12.

You can get a three-day license if you prefer, as well. Go to the South Dakota GFP HSOforum, and you can get your license online.
