Shack
"The Science of Warmth" ~Frabill Says it all when it comes to Frabill’s Snosuit "S" Series. "Technology goes "in-to" keeping winter out." ~Frabill Designed from a scientific perspective, Snosuit integrates advanced materials like Snoscore™ and SnoShell™ Insulation, Dupont™ Teflon® fabric protector and YKK® Aquaguard™ zippers. "No generic filler or crappy zippers." ~Frabill Science doesn't go for that. Neither does Snosuit. It's called "articulation" - design that respects the body's areas of motion. That's the secret to making outerwear move like underwear. _______________________________________________________ Those are some great statements Frabill has made about producing the best line of extreme winter outdoors wear: Words which I have found to be true with the Snosuit "S" Series jacket and bibs. Here is "my" take on the Snosuit : This last Christmas I was lucky enough to have Santa drop me off a new Snosuit. After using my AA Plus suit for snowmobiling all last year, I was entertaining the idea of having a separate suit just for snowmobiling and maybe extreme, cold fishing trips. When I opened up the box, I was very pleasantly surprised. First thing I that popped up in my head was Brian "Bro" Brosdahl . If Frabill's Snosuit Series represents any one person on this planet, it is the Bro. From the minute I picked the suit up, I could feel this suit was made to be bullet proof. By just lifting either the bibs or jacket, you can feel the quality that is built into Snosuit's gear. At a quick glance, you are almost overwhelmed at how many features Frabill & Snosuit have packed into this jacket & bibs. When I say "bullet proof" I mean tough and well built. When I say "feature packed" I am talking about the options (yes I said options) the Snosuit offers. From the adjustable venting system, to the elaborate pocket systems, down to the built in lighting system, Snosuit has you covered. For the entire month of January and part of February, I was unable to get riding on my snowmobile or icefishing. This was not going to get "not" to use my suit (jacket) though. I used the jacket when visiting during the holidays. I found it very comfortable. This past weekend I was able to put this suit to the test. Last Saturdays objective was Mille Lacs lake icefishing while on the sleds. The predicted morning temp was around the ) deg. mark and it felt all of that when I first steeped out of the truck before putting the suit on. First thing that struck me was how easy the bibs where to put on and then seal up the bottoms around my boots. It took seconds. Once I finished putting on the bibs and then jacket, I was instantly warm. During the mornings snowmobile ride out to the Northern middle area of Mille Lacs, I never once felt chilled. Another plus that I found with the suit is even though it does weigh more than my other suits, once it is put on (because of how it is designed) you notice nothing as far as hindrance while moving, sitting, or bending down. I was so warm with this suit on, we spent the first 3 hours on the ice without setting up the fish house. That evening, when coming in, it was "even" colder than it had been that morning. Once again I felt very warm and comfortable on the ride back. Test #1 for me and the Snosuit passed with flying colors. I love it. Test #2 occurred on Sunday. The real reason I interested in another suit was for snowmobiling. Comfort & warmth had to be the number one on the list. Snosuit had this covered for me already. The second thing I was looking for was "style". In my opinion looking good is a "plus" in anything and Snosuit also had this covered for me. After getting ready, I decided to take my kids on some lengthy snowmobile rides, but my main goal was to see how the Snosuit handled trail riding. On Mille Lacs lake the day before I was pretty much just running in a straight line. Trail riding is another story. After putting on 50+ miles of trail riding Sunday, I am convinced. Frabill's Snosuit is the best extreme winter suit on the market. If you are in the market for a suit that has quality, warmth, features, comfort, and "style", the Snosuit "S"series is your pick. The extreme versatility & warmth will just blow you a-way. The Snosuit "S" Series is the zenith of performance extreme winter-wear. The Snosuit "S" Series flows so nice with my sledding gear: Thank You Frabill & Snosuit! river rat316
Good to see you out and about Josh, the next thing on my list is a good cold weather suit, and the sno suit is on the short list of products I am looking at!
fisherdog19
Nice sled, I have the same one, isn't it great. How is the Sno Suit for breathability? My biggest problem is getting damp from sweating when I drill holes or get moving a lot. I have gone through a few different brands including the AA and it always get's damp on me in the inside of the jacket and bibs.
harvey lee
I had the pleasure and let me say agian the pleasure of wearing the Sno Suit in one of the coldest ice fishing trips I have ever made.We were fishing on Rainy Lake in Jan. and the morning temps were from -31 to -39 for the 3 mornings. We also needed to travel every morning about 45 minutes by sno machine to our fishing spots. In the morning when I saw the temps, I thought of staying in the cabin as it may be just to cold of a ride on the sled.Well, I will say this, I believe these temps were about extreme as they can get as I was as warm as I could have been in my Sno Suit. These suits are unreal for warmth in the bitter cold outdoor temps. Thanks goes out to Frabill for a wonderfull outdoor suit.In regards to the breathabillity, I did not sweat at all but then I do not know if one can sweat in -40 temps and windchills even cooler. Shack
Thanks fisherdog. As far as breath-ability and Snosuit, it breaths on its own. I have not had to use them yet but the suit also offers an adjustable vent system for those warmer days. Here is part of the venting system: This is a very cool feature also. The built in LED lighting: The little things make this suit great. Like the inner pocket system of the jacket. Not only big, but you can see threw it so you know what is in their and where: Another feature is the built-in license holder and display: The Snosuit is great for just about any condition. Ed Carlson
I do not have a SnowSuit... yet, but I do use the Frabill SnoSuit fingered gloves. I like the gloves a lot, well designed and very warm and light. The wrist cinch strap is easy to use. The long gauntlet cuff with the quick cinch cord keeps the snow, cold, and moisture at bay. I can confidently recommend the gloves.
Northlander
I have the chopper style mitts and they are nice and warm. My hands get cold easy after 30 plus years of busting them up in football, basketball and volleyball. These are nice and light and the warmest choppers, besides my old school over sized wool lined deerskin ones. I have used.Great for snowmobiling and hole hopping.
