My best advice that I can pull out of my head:

Make friends with someone who fishes for muskies.

An afternoon or two is all you need to learn about tackle and fishing style.

A good family friend of my gf is a musky fisherman, he's taken me out a few times and I can't thank him more for the experiences I've had on the water with him. I've only boated one in the 4 or 5 outings we did last year, but it was a nice one.

The rest of your life will be spent keeping track of water temps, barometer readings, moon phases, and which foot you first used to step into the boat among other things to try to replicate success.
