I bought a Stradic last year and LOVED it - -just picked up a Saros --

Anyone like the Saros?

Saros are pretty much Stradics minus the oil port. I like them; the oil port is a nice feature, but it won't put fish in the boat.

That is what I found too. It "seems" like the Stradic is a "little" bit smoother?

Could just be my imagination too...

The Stradic also has a worm gear. Its cross wraps the line better which is important if you are going to use braid.. If using mono, its not that big a deal. The stradic also has a stronger drag..

There is nothing wrong with the Saros at all.. It will be a great reel for you.. I was only giving the differences.

Gander is breaking out a whole new line of reels, seen a few, took a couple for a spin...and man...very nice! The new Gander Mountain GSX Titanium Baitcast Reels are super slick, the spinning reels are looking very good too.

I have a couple Quantum's. A Tour, energy and a catalyst. I have had them for a couple years. They are great reels and I have had no problems with any of them.JMO
