Lowrance GPS

Burbslayer

Question

Last weekend while using my H20c it would locate my postion right away and then after about 30min it would loose it again, and it would take about 15 tries of shutting it off and starting it again to find my postion, then it would loose me right away. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a remedy for it?? Thanks

Burb

Try a soft reset. With the power off, press and hold the Pages Button and the Power Button until it comes back on. This won't erase any of your waypoints, it just resets the software --- gives it a little kick in the seat of the pants if you know what I mean.

That might solve your problem, or might not, but it is quick and painless to try. Good luck getting it solved.

Note the first warning screen that you get during power up that the gps should not be used as a sole means of navigation. We saw why this is on there. I fished up in Grand rapids and could not get a single satellite for almost the entire weekend. Rumor finally had it that because of the increased solar activity that weekend the satellites were shut down. Government has control over these satellites and during certain type of emergencies can cut off the civilian use of them. Then again maybe something is wrong with your H2O.
