Lowrance Outback

snoozebutton

Question

Anyone have this unit? Wondering what your thoughts of it are, pros/cons. I had the H2O but it took for ever to aquire a possition and frequently lost it and then I'd be waiting for it to reaquire. Is the Outback going to be any better? And as far as I know, the Outback will take the Navionics chip, is that right?

I noticed the Sierra and the Safari are considerably more expensive so why are they so much higher? What have they got that the Outback doesn't?

Go to the Lowrance HSOforum and that will tell you the main differences between all three. There is not much difference between the Out&Back compared to the Sierra, mainly the base map, barometric altimeter, and compass I think. I know that the Lakemaster maps for the older Lowrance does not work in the new Endura series but I don't know about Navionics. I know that the Endura series had lots of issues when they were first released, but it seems like they got a lot of those bugs cleared up now. Go to a couple of GPS specific forums and you will find better info there.
