TMobile Shadow - WiFi question

I have the T mobile Shadow with phone service only (no internet). Does anyone know if you can link to a wifi network? I know it has an antenna and I have wifi at home but when I turn it on it connects to a random network and then won't let me surf the net. It doesn't give me the option to select a network or enter the password.

I'm guessing either Tmobile locks it down so you can't do this (thus making you buy their internet service) or you have to be on an unsecured network....

You need to check with your phone manufacturer.

My daughter has a T-Mobile Dash and son has a T-Mobile Blackberry. Both can connect to the WiFi in my house (not on data plan)so I doubt it's a T-Mobile lock down thing.

Make sure your phone has WiFi enabled in the settings and do a search for available networks.

Thanks RM. I got it working now, it defaults to "quick connect" which means it just grabs anything and doesn't let you type in the password. I had to go into the "wifi manger" and from there you can select which network you want and type in the password.
