Garmin Rino 530 HCx

Question

Does anyone know if a 12v charger come with the unit when you buy it? Also should I get one of those extra battery packs that you can put "AA" in? Also should I get a carring case for it too? Thanks for your help!

12 V Charger comes with it, and if anything, get another Lithium Ion pack. I get 14-16 hours easy out of a charge on the ION pack, and they recharge in 30 minutes to an hour. A back-up ION pack is handy in the bush, just in case. I seldom need one, but I have one if I go on long outings...just in case.

The Charger is the same really for the 110 and the 12, the cord that plugs into the charger itself is the difference. A spare charger clip is not a bad idea then you can keep one charger home and one in the rig. You can have the spare on the charger and swap out packs as needed, smart charger, and it does not require the GPS unit to charge by 12 V or 110.

The RAM mount for the 530 HCx is unique to that model with the ION pack, as it is larger in the back, so do not confuse the two if ordering one...great mount...I recommend it. They run about $40. Once you get the base RAM system for it you can add the $14 rail/handlebar mount base if you plan to use it on a ATV or sled.

Go to the Garmin web site, click on the Rino 530 HCx, and it will have a list of accessories and what is included in the package. That will be helpful to you. User tips and demo's on You Tube will prove helpful.
