Dodge Ram electrical problems

Recommended Posts

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 4x4 at the cabin that I only use on weekends for fishing. The past 4 or 5 times I have used it, I have had to jump it to start it, I just blew this off as cold weather because it seemed to be charging ok. This weekend I went to use it (it had sat for 2 weeks unused) I had to jump strt it again, I let it run for 15 minutes, the gauges said it was charging. When I shut it off and pulled the key, the flashers started blinking, the dash lights came back on and the blower fan started running all this with no key in the ignition! This only lasted for about 10 seconds and everything shut off by itself. After that it would not turn over again. The battery is 2 years old. Do I have something drawing down the battery, is the battery shot?,could a dead battery cause the accessories to act up? Thanks guys!
