JimBuck
Unfortunate. I guess I don't know enough about the freight and shipping industry to form an opinion but it seems like it's only a matter of time before these critters are in Mn. mainbutter
They are in MN already from what I understand, I think there is already a thread about it somewhere. They haven't progressed very far luckily.
Comit 2
I always thought it would be funny if the Carp were to try to jump when a snowmobile went over them on the ice, like they do when a boat goes by.
pikestabber
I'm afraid we will be all too familiar with these guys within a decade or so...I did see a kick-butt show yesterday, however, with folks shooting them "on the fly" with a bow and arrow (Gettin' Close, Outdoor Channel, follow the link and scroll to the last video clip: http://outdoorchannel.com/Shows/GettinClose.aspx)I believe it was in Illinois somewhere. That's making lemonade out of lemons, I guess... Looked fun!
mrklean
i still hope they do something to stop them so we never have them here, there a million times worse then having wild hogs roaming around and ask texas about wild hogs
pikestabber
Just to clarify, if I want to bow-fish for these invasive carp, then I will got to Illinois and shoot them, but I DO NOT want them here! Easy to let happen, impossible to control after it does. To me, hunting wild hogs would be fun, too, but as mrklean said, ask Texans how they like their hog population. I have a friend from Texas, and his viewpoint (and the one commonly shared) is that hogs are to Texas what rats are to NYC. They are vermin, and "overpopulated" is an understatement. JBMasterAngler
Did anyone watch the "life after people" episode that talked a little bit about the silver carp? Apparently they have a showdown with the sea lamprey and lose badly
mrklean
haha did it say anything about cougars and bigfoot having a showdown in MN at all???
