Holy Mackerel!

Anyone ever cooked mackerel before? I caught some Spanish and King Mackerel down in FL and am wondering what the heck I should do with it. Thanks!

I grilled King Mackerel marinated in a carribean jerk sauce and it turned out well.

King Mackerel has a different flavor to it. Sort of a slight liver flavor as I remember it. My mom and her friends loved it. I thought it was OK. Not my favorite saltwater fish to eat.

I've had grilled Spanish Mackerel in Mexico. It was great.

The only time I had it was grilled on a charcoal grill, with just a slight bit of black pepper. I thought it was fantastic.

It's a stronger flavored fish due to its oil content. You could mix it with some Lutefisk to tone that down!

Actually, it is best grilled with a good coating of Cajun seasoning.

I've done Kings on the grill as well. Seasoned, with lemon slices on the top and they've turned out great each time.
