Propane Bases

Does anyone know if they sell just a base for the 1 pound propane tanks? Just wondering I was looking at a lantern but it does not have one and I am worried about it tipping over all the time.

Yes they do. I know Gander sells them, but I'm sure Fleet Farm or any store that has a camping department will sell them.

i have been thinking about this and i think if you took a butter bowl and cut the bottom to fit and put the tank through it with the bowl upside down it would work better than the base that they sell because the support would be higher on the tank to help it from tiping over just a thought i had have not tried it yet

That could work, but from my experince - the support base I bought spreads out pretty wide and don't think it would have tipping problems as long as you put it on a fairly flat surface. Also since it is not to bulky, it is easy to pack.

I have taken a piece of 2" pink or blue styrofoam and cut a hole in it for the 1lb tank to fit in. It keeps it off the ice, insulates a little and doesn't way much.
