Crank Down Wheels

Recommended Posts

Hi-

I am trying to figure out on how to rig up the crank down wheel assembly, by using a winch. Can you guys that have a setup like this post pictures, and/or explain to me some things i will need to know, this is the only part of the build that is confusing me. Like Do you use a full leaf spring and then put a metal tube aroudn it or waht?

Thanks for all the help guys!!

no, the whole spring is used, but about half is inside the tube. I'm not sure how it is held in place. I don't like that system because the spring was not designed to be used that way. My brothers house uses the spring in the tube and he has broken several springs. And it's not like goes tearing across the ice, he drives very slow and careful. From what I have seen lately most of the manufacturers are going away from the spring in the tube.
