2005 silverado transmission

My 05 chevy has 130 thousand and it when you try to keep it at a steady speed the torc converter wont stay locked. Unless you are looking for it you wont notice it but the tacomeder varies about a thousand or so up and down. is this normal or can anything be done thanks

Can you physically feel the RPM increase/decrease?

What happens if you slightly depress the brake pedal enough to turn on the brake lights nut not enough to feel the brakes dragging?

most of the time its visual and any acc or decel its ok. could this be a engin situation? The trans seem overful. could a trans flush and fill resolve it. Im stumped

Well if the trans is over full, I would correct the fluid level first, if the fluid is brown, or smells hot or burnt, then it is beyond a fluid flush, but if it is just old, then a flush may help.

If it's not actually kicking the torque converter out I'd say your guage is at fault. Pretty common for that year. There is a service bulletin for the dash but I think you're over with 130k miles.
