the bass ponds

i was thinking about ice fishing the bass ponds for channel cats. Im not sure how deep it is but i dont think it freezes out. i was fishing there this summer and saw a guy with a couple cats on a stringer so would it work through the ice? What kind of bait would you use? minnows? dead bait? any advice would be great

Actually, let me know how you do. I've wanted to give the place a try ice fishing. I wasn't sure if there were enough cats to target there in the summer even, but I did see a dead one on shore. I have caught other fish there. I believe I did try catting there once in the summer with crawlers.

Ya I have know clue on where they would be at in the bass ponds. I have never iced kitties before. I think I'm going to give it a shot within the next few weeks here.
