99 Maxima heater goes cold at stop lights

The kid as a 99 Maxima 6 cyl that give plenty of heat at speed but the heater goes cold at stop lights. I suggested that there was an air lock and of course I'm wrong cause I'm just the dad. Is there some speceial way to bleed air out when filling the thing up or is there another solution?

Check the coolant level.

If its low enough to stop blowing heat at a stop sigh than there is a leak somewhere.

Let it idle with the cap off and keep the radiator full. When the fan comes on do the final top off and put the cap back on.
