Any lakes in the Amery area with decent walleye populations? I know Wapo does but Does North twin or Pike or any others in the area have eyes? Got hooked by cathing some eyes through the ice on the croix but want to try some lakes now.

Thanks, Paul

Wapo is probably the best, though there are some in North Twin and Pike. The Apple River Flowage does NOT have any eyes, so otherwise you would have to drive southwest to Cedar or north to Balsam to find other lakes with decent walleyes.

I really can't help you much there, as I'm not an ice fisherman or walleye fisherman (though I have had multi-accidental walleye days there, which there's only a handful of lakes I can say that happens on). There's always a big shack bash near the north end of the lake, though I think that's mostly for panfish. I'd start at the humps and points to start. I wouldn't hesitate to try find green weeds next to a break as a plan B though.
