What kind of hook set up is best to use for tip up fishing?

A lot of people use quickstrike rigs with treble hooks because they make it easier to hook fish without waiting for them to swallow the bait. Make sure there is a bead and blade near the trebles to make it legal.

If you're CPR fishing a QS rig is great.

If you're keeping fish, well I guess fish mortality really isn't a concern. I like circle hooks (even when fishing for keeps) in front or behind a dorsal fin when fishing live bait. No weights.
