OBDII pros: P2099 and P0051?

Recommended Posts

After my vehicle check engine light came on and went into "limp" mode, I went to an Autozone to borrow their obd scanner. I had these codes come up at the same time (I think) and I erased them. Seems as they are both mixture related (O2 sensor at the cat?) and they came on after a fillup at an offbrand gas station that had never been used before. The cold snap and snow also occurred around the same time.

2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca, 43,xxx, premium gas used, no fuel or other issues prior to this. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Could someone dumb down "Bank 2" for me? The code descriptions are:

P0051- "HO2S Bank 2 Sen 1 Heater Circuit Low"

P2099- "Post Catalyst Fuel trim Bank 2 System too Rich"

Can anyone dumb these down for me? I think you are right: O2 sensor in the exhaust, and Bank 2 mean pre-cat like you say? Thanks for ANYTHING you guys have!

I'm assuming its a V6....in general, "bank 1" is normally the side of the engine that #1 cylinder is on. So in simple terms, if you know where #1 cyl is, bank 2 would be on the exhaust of other side of the engine. I've never personally been under the hood of one of these so I can only speak in general terms.
