ICE TIME

I don't post much but thought I'd show a few things I work on from time to time. I designed my ICE TIME rod earlier this summer. It's comfortable and very light weight. This summer I tried it out from a walking bridge on a nearby pond. It worked real nice, as I had hoped. (Although I did get a few strange looks. )

Very nice and light too. Can I ask why you didnt center the blank into the handle? Im sure you had a good reason Im just curious.

Yeah I am a little curious too. I can see offsetting it, but if I did offset it I think I would have gone the other way. You must hold the rod a bit different than I.

Good question. I found it a little easier for a person to place the index finger on the blank, especially for kids. Plus it gives it a unique look, there's nothing else like it that I've seen.

I pretty much just hold the rod grip in my hand with my index finger touching the blank.

I should have given that your idea some thought. What would be the benefit of offsetting it the other direction?

For me I would think it would be easier to put my finger on the blank from the bottom, that is the way I normally do it. But then that is why a custom is custom to fit the needs and habits of the owner.
