Jigging55
Just looking for a tip on what type of paint to use for the inside and out of my new spear house that I’m going to be constructing this weekend? I know that black is the obvious choice but just wondered if anybody had better results with spray paint, oil based, water based etcetera. merkman
I recommend exterior oil based paint. I am not sure if it holds up better but it just seems thicker and more durable. I painted the bottom of my 8X8 with rustoleum oil based black paint and the guy at the big green lumberyard chain guaranteed me that my wood would not rust after painting it now. Also look into some thick cushy carpet to dampen as much noise as you can.
Gordie
For the inside I went with a cheap latex from Menards two coast and good to go. Just be sure to paint it then turn the heat on for a while so it can dry/cure well. I would not recomend oil base on the inside because of the fumes it will work if thats all you have but I would let dry for a couple of days with a heater so that you dont get that nastey smell/headackes from it. The latex that I used also stuck well to the bead foam insul that I used
