kstruck
Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some wiring questions answered.I have wired LED's to the frame of the flip over, and I brought the wiring down to the battery and got some alligator clips for the terminal connection. This will work fine, but for some experimentation I picked up a cheap light switch at M enards. I tried wiring the switch in last night to no avail, I guess I am not sure if I got the right kind of switch or the wiring might not be correct. I am quite electrically impaired and am just trying learn as I go! So I could use some guidance about this switch. Thanks!
TonkaBass
Put the switch in series on the positive lead from the battery and it should work fine. The switch you bought should have two terminals on it...
kstruck
Thanks tonka,Would I connect the negative wire anywhere?
TonkaBass
just to the negative lead on the battery.. You are only going to make and break one wire with the switch.
kstruck
Perfect, I was actually about ready to try that last night when the couch started calling my name. Thanks for the help.
pjhaef
you may want to add a inline fuse between the battery and the switch. a little protection incase a wire gets pinched or frayed.
