How to deal with a Customer?

Fisherman..... your are spot on. Last I herd they started to use ther terminlas to brows the WEB with expired AV and 2 years behind on XP updates. One terminal is down and the other is on it's way.

Some people will do anything to save a buck. I take sooo much pleasure in the fact that this will cost 10 times more to fix than I was going to charge them. I might just live with the loss grab a bag of POPCORN and enjoy the show.

The last place I worked had an XP POS and inventory management system, but it used a VPN to communicate to the corporate office and for credit card transactions and online ordering. There was a separate office system for word processing, web surfing, etc.

You're crazy to open up your POS system to the net!

Many places have the PCs for the POS systems on the network with access to the web. But really not a good plan to use them as workstation, especially without AV.
