I put around 75' of 15# to 20# of the plastic coated tip-up line on my rattle reels. I then tie on a swivel and add around 5' of 8# to 10# Florocarbon line. Tie a plain hook or an ice jig onto that, add a medium sized split shot if needed and you are ready to go.
