anyone make their own auger mate

I was thinking of making an auger mate out of a tote and was wondering if anyone has any pointers. Thanks

I just though of this, buy a catch cover sleeve and rivet it to the bottom of the tote with the ring side down and put a bead of silicone between them. You would have around $30.00 into it and a store bought one is $50.00

I personally would spend the extra $20.00 because I would build one for $30.00 and not like it for some reason and go buy the $50.00 anyway.

This works great. I made one like you are thinking of doing. The bucket fits in the hole of catch covers nice. I also added some foam tape around the bucket to make a better seal.

If you use the bucket, put the bucket in from the bottom up, leaving the larger portion of the bucket on(the top). Does this make any sense? I would post a pic, but don't have it anymore. I let it go with my last house I sold.
