My new lens arrived right before I left for vacation. Wouldn't you know, it gets all cloudy and gloomy outside as soon as I take it out of the box.

Anyway, I took it on a trip to Illinios this weekend, where we attended the 100th Anniversary of the great Cherry Mine disaster. The town of Cherry was named after my great-great grandfather, so a bunch of us met there and hung out for the weekend. The sky was bright until about 5 minutes before the balloon release. frown

256 balloons were released in memory of the 256 men and boys who lost their lives in the Cherry Mine fire.
