MANY family farms were displaced to make a huge lake to be a flood control device on the Kickapoo River (130 acre lake) . After a lot of research all of the family farms were bought out by the government voluntary and involuntarily. Then there were more studies done and a huge flood control area was made near LaFarge , Wisconsin.

I'm a little confused. My grandparents had a farm for 50 years in the Kickapoo River Valley, and I spent my summers growing up on that 160-acre dairy farm. How many family farms could be displaced in favor of a 130-acre lake? How is a lake that size "huge?" Can you explain?
