That may work - but this is the book that most Springer Trainers have read and used. It's called "Hup!: Training Flushing Spaniels the American Way by James B. Spencer (Paperback - Oct 2002)".

You can order it off of Amazon. It is excellent.

As far as 7 weeks to start training - the best thing for Springers is the basic commands. Most Springers are natural retrievers - so you don't have to always worry about that right away. Even my Springer - who didn't seem that interested at first - woke up when I tossed a clip wing in his direction.

Read the book - use it. It is excellent.

When I had a springer, I utilized one of Wolters' books - Game Dog, and I had great success. I no longer have my springer, but do still have the book. I followed the book almost to a T. IMO, it's an excellent training guide. If you follow his guidelines, you can't go wrong.
