Ok heres my situation I can Pick up a Lowrance 510c color fishfinder Brand new in the Box for about $200 with no transducer. This means I would have to buy a Ice fishing kit for it which is $170. I currently have a vexlar and a marcum pro V 1. Do these work better than what I have for my first question. And 2 do think it would be worth the money to do for ice fishing or just by the transducer for $70 for summer fishing

510 is a nice low end unit but not sure it would work well for ice fishing.

The 510 will serve you well for an ice fishing sonar.

You will need:

Battery: $20

Ice-Deucer: $70

Genz Blue Box: $20 For a total of $110 for ice fishing.

Summer transducer: $70

If you sell one or both of your flashers, you will have enough money for a good year round use sonar.

There are many happy users for Lowrance ice units because they will perform well year round.
