Lackey to the Yanks?

Its being tossed around that the Yanks are after John Lackey from the Angels, who is a free agent. Supposed starting negotiating number is $85 million. The rich get really richer!

it will be a shame if another really good pitcher goes there and then under performs (like burnett did)... it seems as tho players always have the pinstripe jinx in situations like this.

i like lackey, but i think if he goes to the yanks, he will under perform

"pinstripe jinx" HA!!! You'd have a hard time focusing on Baseball if you had that much cash rolling around on the floor or your Bently too.

My take on this.....

Why not.?.?.?. All the other teams in MLB know they can not compete with "Yankee Money". The player agents all but say it. A Yankee contract is the be all end all of baseball. If they can get it, they go. There is no loyalty in the game anymore, just $$$$$$$ and $$$$$talks.

Look at the Twins. All they give a rip about is the Central. Beating the Big guns from the east, not in thier price range.
