can you pull the glove box out to access it? the door and actual box part are mounted into the dash. sqeeze the sides of the holder in to the center and let the stops come past the dash. then flip it out. should help will getting to the fan

It seems on those the PCM (computer) has to come out first, then the cover over the blower. I think you need to loosen the lower dash to A-pillar mounting bolt and lift the dash up and out away from that mounting bolt to allow for enough room to get the motor out, also.
