southwest
Does the 4 wheeler rule just apply to public lands or can you use all day on township roads and private land. Never have quite figured out what the rules are from reading the regulations. Any clarification would be helpful otherwise i will call the DNR and get more confused. Jmnhunter
I believe it regards to everything if you have a deer license
Bear55
I think it regards to everything even if you don't have a deer license.
kobear
All Day? If you have a deer liscense you are restricted to:ATV's may only be used before legal shooting, from 11am-2pm, and after legal shooting.• These regulations apply to all public and private lands except private landowners or persons authorized by private landowners may operate snowmobiles or all-terrain vehicles on their property at any time.If you are on your land it's okay, any other private land you need permission to operate from the owners. Any public anything is a no go. So if township roads are public then NO, if township roads are private as some believe all you need is permission from every tract you will be traversing. luv2fish
So we hunt my uncles 160 acres. If he tells me it is OK for me to drive my 4-wheeler (outside of the hours mentioned above) it is OK? Even if I have a valid deer license on me?I have always been confused about what the rule actually is.Anyone know a friend that has been stopped on private land for driving an ATV? Kind of an interesting rule to enforce on private land.
otis
If the land is yours, or you have permosion from the landowner you can drive anything you want at anytime. Once you leave PRIVATE land you are fair game for the DNR. I have never heard of anyone being stopped or written up for driving on the roads or right of ways. I use mine every year to cross the roads and never a problem.
