Twice in four days

Recommended Posts

Unbelieveable. I wait over twenty years for my first drake pintail and it happens twice in four days.

Overall it was a good weekend for hunting ducks. Saturday was better with the front coming through. A buddy and I shot 5 ringnecks, 5 buffleheads, 1 mallard and a goose on Saturday. Sunday there were three of us. We downed 5 ringnecks, 1 pintail, and a shoveler (aka smiling mallard). Still waiting for the northern lards.

was the pintail just a solo or were there more in the flock?

Are you getting some of these birds around the Hutchinson area or somewhere else?

The one I shot on Thursday was with two hens, that was closer to the cities. Todays was shot near Hutch and he was with three hens.

way to drop the drakes--- when I hunted down in LA, they seemed to have a lot of Pintails down there. They could come right over the blind and hover over us, we always tried to pick out the ones with the longest tails--very fun and congrats on the bird
