nitro640
what would be a good price on a used mini 14 with a scope? what kind of range do they have ? 223 caliber.
picksbigwagon
I wouldn't spend a whole lot on them. They are not the most accurate 223 out there. $400 maybe if it is in really good condition....
Bran32
I would have to disagree with the accuracy of a mini-14, that is the only gun that I hunted with for coyotes for a long time! My step-dad and I would yotes upwards to 300 yards. A mini with a scope under $600 bucks in good condition is a good deal! Also a ton of fun to go to a gun range with a couple 40 round clips!!!Just a great little gun! But I am having a hard time finding bullets!! picksbigwagon
I stand corrected then, I have a friend in Iowa and he and his dad both use a mini 14, the dad had the barrel cryogenically treated and it tightened up the groups to under an inch. My buddies still shoots about 3" at 100 yards. I went with an AR-15 instead. I think for 600 bucks you can get one new and throw a scope on it. nitro640
thanks for the replies, my buddy has a line on one for $250. I told him to buy it and if he decided he didn't want it I would buy it from him.
picksbigwagon
Have fun, try not to melt the barrel the first time at the range, it is tough not to. Bring along a 10/22 and a couple bricks of ammo, it will take care of that itchy trigger finger.unforturnately, finding ammo will be tough, I reload so I am relieved I don't have to buy ammo anymore, that price is scarey
Bran32
Thats a great price and have fun, the 10/22 idea is awesome, no better way to go lay some rounds than a Ruger 10/22!! Especially if you got the banana clip!! Gott love thos semi-autos
picksbigwagon
I always take a 22 rifle and a 22 pistol when I go to the range. Takes the edge off while the barrels are cooling down
nitro640
had the deer rifles out yesterday, and took the 22 semi auto pistol for fun.
Bran32
I usually take my Hi-Point 9mm carbine for fun! Its a little more expensive to shoot but still a kick in the pants!
