First Ice Fishing House Build

I'm pretty new to the forums, but I LOVE this forum! I can on here to get ideas on building my first fish house. I've had a clam for the last 4 years and I HATE it! I would like a large house, mainly for when my wife and in-laws can come over and have some fun. The lake I'll be putting it on is about 1/2 mile from my brother in-law and 2 miles from 2 more. I do have access to a 6x12 trailer, but I'm not excited about having to pull that out there.

The coolest fish house that I've seen on the forum was by "moosehunter". 8x8 modular. I don't know how to post that link for his on here.

So I'm thinking of modifying that and stepping up to an 8x12 modular, and instead of 2x4's for the floor support (too high once you add runners as well) using 2x2's. This will be a fully modular unit with a total of 15 pieces all together.

I haven't purchased any materials yet, and I do have access to the tools I will need. I haven't built anything since 8th grade (baking rack) and I need some suggestions.

Good luck with your build. As far as a 2x2 framed floor I'd be concerned with strength issues.

I don't know if you seen my thread but I also made a modular shack last year and love it. It is in my garage in pieces right now. It is light enough for one guy to pick up one end to back the trailer under for transport.
