crappie carpet
I am 35, never hunted ND. I hunt waterfowl regularly now for the last 7 years or so. If I want to go hunt ND, I have heard I need to be hunter safety certified. Is this true?
InTheNorthwoods
From the ND G&F HSOforum:"Persons born after 1961 must complete a certified hunter education course and show proof of certification when buying or applying for hunting licenses (official courses offered by other states and Canadian provinces meet these requirements)." buffelhead
Go to this HSOforum. http://gf.nd.gov/ I hunted North Dakota for years, I have hunters safety, so it was never an issue. I would say that this HSOforum should greatly help!
jeepguy
If you are a Minnesota resident just put your drivers liscense # in the hunters safety spot of the registration form, I have been doing this for a few years and it works.
brittman
You can probably write anything in you want ... The MN DNR currently issues hunter safety numbers that will infact becoume driver's license numbers for these youth in a few years. Now the warning ... ND G&F does run verification and validation audits on licenses now. They can do this since everything is on their computer database. They can work to verify residency, felony issues, and such things as hunter safety numbers are valid. If they catch you in an audit, you maybe be notified and ... MN Greenheads
You may be be notified. My friend 15 years ago gets a call in Jan. after he wrote a fake # in Oct.. The guy said he was from nd f&g and his # didn't check out. My friend played dumb and nothing happened but he was a little spooked by it. phishnerd
If you are a Minnesota resident just put your drivers liscense # in the hunters safety spot of the registration form, I have been doing this for a few years and it works. I would skip this advise. Just because you type in a number doesn't mean that you are providing proof of completing a hunters safety course. It means that you are going to attempt to hunt illegally. The ND fish and Game and doing more and more audits every year and the fine is a hefty one. Why not just take the course? The MNDNR has a home study course that is pretty painless. Eventhough you have hunted waterfowl for the past 7 years you might be surprised at what you may learn or have already forgotten. Think of it as a refresher course I would look into it b-4 you do something stupid like forge a hunter's safety number. Just my 2 cents...
