i have a question regarding my aerator minnow bucket... i got it for xmas last year and its a frabill insulated minnow bucket with the aerator that clips on the side and runs off 2 D batteries.

if you are trying to keep minnows alive for an extended period of time, how often and for how long are you supposed to run the aerator? if i run it for more than like 10 minutes, there are an extreme amount of bubbles in the bucket, almost overflowing the bucket. if i leave minnows just in a normal minnow bucket out in the garage in this cold weather, they over a week. should i just run the aerator for like 10 minutes maybe a couple times a day? anybody have any input on this? thanks much

My lil air pump is elec so I plug it in and forget it. I too use the frabill bucket with foam insert. I have a round air stone puck for the bubbles, but it never bubbles up like you're saying. Maybe try a different air stone.

In a bucket that small it helps to change the water. Ammonia build up. Everyday would be the best, but every other works fine too. I don't think they'll last all week, but ifn' they did I'm pretty sure your water will stink and the minnows won't be as lively as they could be. And who wants to fish with a weak minnow?
