hoggs222
I will be down in the Mesa, AZ area next month and would like to take my God Daughter fishing. We'll probably go from shore somewhere. I've found some urban fishing lakes on the AZ DNR site and I am wondering if anyone here has fished down there? We'll probably just be going for some panfish or bass. SJMyers32
Am a fellow Phoenician and would like to say that Red Mountain park in East Mesa is ok and Tempe town lake has fish but even worse. If you have a boat head up to Roosevelt resevoir where a fifteen pound walleye was caught in the last few years. Keep in mind Im not there no more and would barf before I fished the salt river before red mountain. Head up to Flagg for some trout and save yourself the agany of fishing by a city of five million. Keep in mind no one drinks the water why would you want to fish it, stay in mn for fishing or sneak in the tanks at Bass Pro Shops on Dobson and the 202! s2h
I have an uncle-in-law that is from down there and did lots of fishing. I will ask him and see what he says.
Flooringuy
I would have to agree with SJMyers. From Arizona myself and the city fishing stinks. There's a few lakes close to Mesa, Saguaro lake is about 20 mins away.If it were me I would head up to Payson or flag for some trout fishing.Stay away from the salt river not very clean at all. hoggs222
I should rephrase my post.I'm just trying to take a 10 year old out fishing to get some fishing in, as she fished off a pier with me here in MN and had a great time, only catching a couple of fish. We're going there just to try to catch some sunnies, etc. We're not going to be eating them. C&R.2 lakes that I found near the Chandler area were Desert Breeze & Veterans Oasis. Both had sunnies, crappies, bass. I picked these lakes, because they have multiple fishing piers.
