harvey lee
I recieved this from Strikemaster in regards to the oil to be used for their augers.Strikemaster usersWe are being bombarded by synthetic and other oil blend questions. Our operations Manuel reads as follows: To operate your engine you will need to use a clean, high quality, 2-cycle oil mixed with fuel at a ratio of 40; 1 (3.2 fl.oz. to 1 gallon of gas) DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OIL. Do not use a fuel/oil mixture leaner than 50:1 (2.6 fl. Oz. to 1 gallon of gas) we are going to adhere to that advice. With so many synthetic and other oil blends out there, we have no data to back up there claims. The 2 cycle oil recommendation is proven! If they insist on going outside the parameters it will void all warranties. If they continue to insist on the quality of all these other oil blends, they will need to go to that oil manufacture and receive in writing their willingness to cover any and all engine damage. That reasonability can and will not be the responsibility of StrikeMaster & Solo!
Jim Hudson
Tom,I dont know when you received this e-mail, but am thinking a bit ago. This was the thought prior to StrikeMaster talking to Solo some more on this issue.. Here is their new position:We have been working very hard the last two weeks regarding the syntheric oil question. After discussions with SOLO USA and some test. Solo’s position is that as long as a good quality two cycle oil (regular or synthetic) is used and the mixture ratio... is no higher than 50:1, the warranty remains intact.I hope this helps everyone and if you have specific questions please give us a call.StrikeMaster Service Department. fisherdog19
That is what I was told yesterday; I wasn't looking forward to going back to a non-synthetic since switching to the Amsoil a few years back. I'm glad they came out with the OK on synthetic, whatever the blend is.
