Patterson Lake Near Waconia?

Anyone ever hunt this lake. Looks pretty thick. Hows the traffic? Is there any motor restrictions?

No motor restrictions.

The access is not the greatest with the low water levels.

The Islands are considered part of the WMA.

I hunt roosters on the north end of Patterson. I always hear ducks in the area but its so thick I never see them. If you can find water out there you'd probably do alright.

I hunted it once this year, never fired a shot. My buddy hunted it friday. Shot at one duck but missed it. If you want to hunt it on the weekend, gonna have to get there early. Good luck.

Any other input on this lake. I'd really like to give it a try. I run a 14' with a 20hp Beavertail with pods.. Am I going to have room to land it? If anyone who knows the lake ever wants to take me out there we can take my Rig!

Otterskin, Did you ever give Paterson a try for ducks? If so what was the result? I was thinking about going out there myself, but I figured it would have to many hunters.

We've hunted patterson on the weekends with mixed results, much like almost anywhere in the state. There seems to be only 1 snaky channel through the cattails to get back into the open water which can be a maze if its ur first time out there in the a.m. Didnt notice a high number of other hunters in the times that we've hunted there either! The water is very deep so be prepared to go swimming if you decide to jump outta the boat with ur waders as 1 guy in our group found out the hard way! haha
