Mariner question???

I am working on a 86 six cyl 90hp mariner and think I have a lower crankshaft seal out. The top two carbs suck in like crazy and the bottom one has about a third as much intake power as the other two and now this 90 has the power of a 50hp. It still runs and idles real well. My question is will the bottom two cylnders suffer from lack of lubrication if I were to run it like this for the rest of the season or should I get it repaired asap?

A short and quick answer to that is yes it will.

Whatever the reason for no intake, you are not pulling in the gas oil mix to lube anything in the bottom 2 cylinders. You run the risk of ruining the pistons if not already, the cylinder, and the crank and rod bearings along with the crank itself. If a bearing were to become several smaller peices, you run the risk of destroying the block as well. I would stop running it.

Comperssion is good all cylinders at 130lbs and no leaks out of intake either thats how Im figuring it would be the lower shaft seal. I think I might bring this one in to get worked on as taking the power head off and replacing that seal doesnt sound like a lot of fun. Thanks guys for the info.
