Train track snow plow

Recommended Posts

I've heard about these but had never seen one in person before. It looked pretty much like a semi tractor with a plow blade and train wheels.

Here's a view down the track behind the plow

I don't know what it was doing there, that area doesn't get very much snow, and the couple times a year it does it is usually only a few inches and is gone in a couple days. Maybe it was just a quiet spur to park it on for the summer.

I think it's on the wrong line for Stevens pass, these shots were taken down by Ravensdale, a bit north of Enumclaw, it was facing south too. But I know next to nothing about trains, maybe the track loops around and does head up to Stevens.

Gold Bar is just a short hop away for me, great mountains and trails up that way.
