ok, so i'm going to start catting pretty soon. i've done my research and i think i know some good spots to start chasing some flats.

i got a setup that i think should do fine for catfish, but what pound test line should i use? right now my reel is spooled up with 20lb suffix, i read somewhere that 20lb isn't enough.

is something around 60lb braid good?

thanks for the help

For braid, I wouldn't use anything under 65, for mono probably 30.

The biggest problem with the braid, isn't the strength, but rather the abrasion resistance or diameter.

If you are fishing in a wide open area, you can get away with smaller braid.

Good luck! There's not a whole lot of time left for this open water season.
