smallieobsession
So I busted off my Fuel tank vent while docking at Kettle Falls Hotel during a Labor Day weekend trip to VNP – which was awesome btw. I stopped by the Lund dealer and picked one up….my boat (08 Lund Tyee GS 1750)was new last year and I’ve never had to change one but I take a look at it and it looks like you simply unscrew what was left of the broken one and then screw the new one in. But, when I unscrewed the old one and went to screw the new one in…there was nothing to screw it into….like no threads, etc….just a hole. Is or was there a nut or threaded something on the inside of the sidewall or something on the back side that I was supposed to somehow hold on to so I could screw the new one in to and it fell down the side because I didn’t or something? I have no clue and I can’t find any info on how it should work. Anyone have any thoughts?
marine_man
I don't recall exactly, but I'm pretty sure there's no retaining nut when you replace it.You'll have to get access behind that area (where the hole is) inside the boat to get a hold of the vent hose that likely slid down the side of the hull since there wasn't anything there to hold it.I'd do this as soon as possible, because as it sits right now, your boat is venting the fuel fumes below decks.marine_man
