Blue Green Algae in Martin County

Recommended Posts

I just read a Star Trib article about a dog dieing from ingesting a water that had a blue green algae bloom in Martin Counties Fox lake. Hunting dog owners should take note of this. Blue Green algae killed a heck of a lot of dogs a few years back in South Dakota, many of which are still incorrectly attributed to heat instead of tainted water. Make sure you know what you're partner is drinking from...this stuff can kill a dog scary quick. If it's one lake, conditions are probably right for it to be in others.

Where did you get this info? I remember the warm year and the fatalities but have not heard this.
