Helfrich 550 eliminators

Recommended Posts

I did a google search on the traps and there is very little info. It sounds like not many were made and they have some value to them. I don't think you will find any replacement parts. i will do some more looking around. I went to a vintage trap collecting site and there was no mention to this brand of trap.

can you post a pic of the traps?

I got a few ideas from another site. The tips of the jaw is what broke. One person mentioned to weld on new tips. They have cast iron jaws, coil spring traps that are offset. The springs are real strong. They also made a 450 model, I have more of them than the 550's. I will try to get a picture of them and post by Monday.

I don't think so, they were my grandpa's traps. I would like to get a few catch pics with them. I just saw a post on trapperman. there were three for sale 30.00$ each. They were sold pending funds. So they may still be for sale.
