Probably a better question for a wild turkey researcher, and a behaviorist at that, but has anyone else seen any hens fighting in what can best be described as neck wrestling? I came across two on the shoulder of a county road fighting in this manner and they paid not attention to me as I approached. Then a third hen, in the ditch saw me and alarm putted, and quickly the two antagonists flew away. The behavior was more tommish, but they didn't have any beards. What would they be doing this time of year in that sort of embrace? They were attempting to hop on top of each other, and the third hen just watched...really peculiar.
