Caledonia/ Winnebago Creek

I am fishing Winnebago Creek this weekend and I am wondering if anyone can give me any advice on what type of stream it is. We are staying at Dunromin Campgrounds and I hear that the stream is very productive.

I have fished this creek many times, when were in the area turkey hunting. Great stream good size browns. I have done best downstream from the bridge. My friend was there a week ago. Said they where hitting Pheasent Tails, Dark Hendriksons, Elk Hair Caddis flys. He fished in the evening mostly. There is a really good sized pool downstream from where you park I caught some dandies in there last year. Only saw 2 people there last year and we fished it for 5 days. Released all our fish.

If you fishing with spinning gear, panther martin spinners will work good we use to use them there before we flyfished. GOOD LUCK>>

Protrapper, thanks for the info. I went down there last year for the first time and caught a few trout during the Trico hatch. I didn't see anyone at all. This year I will have my kids so the spin fishing info is nice. Thanks
