Lowrance HDS side imaging

Question

Is there a date set when this will be available and also what will we need to update or upgrade to make this work? I am guessing it will be just put a different transducer in and run another software update. Also curious what the new transducer will cost.

The only thing Lowrance has announced officially is that they'll be releasing more details at the ICAST show in July. They're still saying it will be out "later in 2009", and they've recently put up some new videos of it in action on their HSOforum.

I haven't heard anything official on the price yet, just lots of guys speculating on the price and they've been all over the board.

One of the Lowrance reps told me it would be an additional transducer and a module, and the module would connect to the ethernet port on the HDS. That's the same way the SIRIUS antenna is configured so it seems to make sense.
